Submitting a Proposal

Submitting a Special Issue Proposal

What is a Special Issue?

A Special Issue is a collection of peer-reviewed articles which aim to highlight an emerging topic within the field of engineering or pose interesting questions and offer new perspectives on an existing area of research.

These Special Issues provide an opportunity to engage researchers to help shape the discourse around these topics and facilitate collaboration.

Your role as a Lead Guest Editor

If you wish to submit a proposal for a Special Issue, you will be taking on the role of Lead Guest Editor. Lead Guest Editors should have recognised expertise in the field covered by the Special Issue. They are responsible for defining the scope of the Special Issue, recruiting a team of suitably qualified Guest Editors, identifying and contacting potential contributors, and overseeing the peer review process.

The success of a Special Issue depends on the active involvement of all Guest Editors, so it is important to ensure that all Guest Editors can contribute their time to developing the Special Issue and encouraging submissions.

This is an opportunity to build and strengthen connections with other researchers working in your field, and to showcase your area of work.
